What is mental strength?

Mental strength, also call mental toughness, is your ability to recover from mistakes, return your focus and attention to your performance, manage negative self-talk, and keep your emotions from getting the better of you.

Is this only for athletes?

No. While our foucs is on youth athletes, anyone who performs in any way can learn skills to help them perform better. Performing artists, musicians, even public speakers can use mental strength training.

Why would I want a mental strength coach?

According to some research in sports psychology, mental training is essential to becoming a successful athlete.  The numbers vary, but suggest that somewhere between 50 to 90% of a performance is mental. A mental strength coach teaches you new skills, ideas, and tools and helps hold you accountable for practicing the skills! Just like you practice to improve your performance skills, mental strength takes practice too!
